Là Nhà began in the house that was built in 1994 - the home where I was born and grew up in Ninh Binh.

One of my clearest childhood memories of this house is watching my grandmother and mother step into the garden whenever someone in our family was unwell. They would gather handfuls of familiar leaves and herbs to prepare a warm bath, herbal steam, compress, or simply one of the many small, traditional ways they knew to care for the family.

That image stayed with me, and years later, became a deep source of inspiration for the way I care for others.

At the time, I knew very little about medicinal herbs or traditional medicine. I only knew that the plants growing around our home were always part of the way the women in my family cared for the people they loved.

My own education began in modern medicine. But the more I studied and worked in healthcare, the more I found myself drawn to Traditional Medicine and to the knowledge of herbs and everyday care that has been passed down through generations of Vietnamese families.

Là Nhà today has grown from the meeting of these two worlds.

Here, familiar things – fresh herbs, mugwort, handcrafted herbal oils, warm compresses, hot stones, traditional cupping, or simply a pot of warm tea – become part of the experiences we create.

Every treatment and experience on Là Nhà’s menu has been personally developed by me and refined over time. My intention is not to recreate the old ways exactly as they once were, but to understand them, preserve what is meaningful, and thoughtfully bring them together with the healthcare knowledge I have learned – creating experiences with a character that belongs uniquely to Là Nhà.

And this journey is still continuing

I am still learning every day and continuing my studies in Traditional Medicine. My hope is to keep deepening my knowledge and skills, and one day become a practitioner of Vietnamese Traditional Medicine with a strong foundation – someone who understands what has been passed down from previous generations, while learning how to preserve and apply that knowledge responsibly in life today.

Perhaps that is why, after all these years, I chose to return to the very house where I grew up and make it the home of Là Nhà.

The garden in front of the house still grows medicinal herbs.

Handfuls of leaves are still picked and prepared each day.

Only now, I am the one continuing the work.

In its own way, Là Nhà is a continuation.
